One of the punishments associated with a California DUI conviction is a term of probation. Court probation as a result of a DUI conviction requires that the defendant take DUI alcohol education classes.

Additionally, the court will require that during the period of probation the defendant have ­no measurable alcohol in their system while operating any kind of a motor vehicle. Probationary periods vary and their are many factors that determine the length of probation.
